All dog registration fees have been waived until September 25, 2026!

City Code requires dog owners within city limits to license their dogs (6 months and older) with the city. A proof of current rabies vaccination is required when registering. Registration form can be found below, and returned to City Hall with proof of vaccination.

Pet License Registration

Per Federal EPA and Iowa DNR regulations, the City of Hampton is required to do a drinking water service line inventory survey throughout the community to determine water service line material such as copper, plastic, lead, galvanized or other. The city does have some data on many of the properties, however, there are some properties that we have limited data on. In order to comply with the EPA/DNR requirements, we are required to compile water service line material data on all properties. The EPA/DNR goal is to locate, identify and eliminate any known lead pipe material through this survey.

Soon, the City may be reaching out to residents to schedule a time to enter their property to complete the service line visual inspection. You may receive a phone call, visit or a door hanger, from the city water staff to arrange times.

If you do not receive a request for an inspection, the City likely has record of your water service line on file. If you believe you have a lead service line, the City requests that you contact them for an inspection.
